About Me

My experience in public libraries and nonprofits goes back to the early 2000's. It's where I have spent my entire career and I wouldn't want it any other way. I have been the manager of a group home for adults with disabilities, led a children's department in a library (including doing lots of story times), been the director of a consulting nonprofit with only one other employee, and the director of a public library with 20 staff. I strongly believe in the power that these organizations have to improve people's lives and I bet you do too. However, working in a library or a nonprofit doesn't come without challenges. Some of those challenges are workplace universals, like working with a bad boss or trying to communicate well with your coworkers, but some challenges are different in a library or a nonprofit. Uncertain funding, constant responsiveness to community struggles, and compassion fatigue are just a few that I've seen show up in these settings.

After 20 years in these fields, I felt like I had hit a wall. I engaged a career coach to help me work through my feeling of being "stuck." I was blown away by the coaching process and the powerful change it created in me. I knew that I wanted to become a coach and help empower others in the same way.

If you're new to the concept of coaching, it's a dynamic co-creative relationship that is centered on the present but focused on the future. It allows you to look at where you are today and consider where you want to be. As your coach, I will listen, ask questions, help you generate ideas and come up with action steps, but the decisions and solutions come from you. You are the expert on your own life and you hold the key to your success. I'm just here to help you unlock it.

Whether you need clarity about what's next for you or you already know where you want to go, I am here to help you succeed.

In addition to my work experience, I have a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from Kent State University. I am a Certified Professional Development Coach and Certified Communication Coach, graduating from an ICF-accredited program.
